Letter from the President and CEO April 2025

Dear Reader,

As we approach our historic 70th Anniversary Celebration on May 1, I find myself reflecting on the vision of the founding families that boldly imagined a new kind of institution where medicine and spirituality would be considered hand in hand. Creating our forthcoming commemorative book, A Light Through the Decades, has uncovered hidden gems and stories that bring to life a legacy of care, servant leadership, and innovation that has defined the Institute from its inception.

Our Platinum Jubilee promises to be an extraordinary gathering, honoring not only our rich history but also distinguished individuals who have profoundly impacted our community. This year, we will honor Novo Nordisk Inc. and The Henderson-Wessendorff Foundation, two remarkable institutions whose commitment to community thriving resonates deeply with our mission. Their contributions remind us of the transformational power inherent in our work, and we are humbled by the chance to honor them in this special moment.

The evening will be made unforgettable by our featured speaker, Dr. Lisa Miller, whose insights into spirituality and health have inspired thousands of parents, scholars, and healthcare professionals alike. We are equally excited about our vibrant musical performance by Houston Children's Choir, Houston Chamber Choir, Moores School of Music, and the Texas Medical Center Orchestra, each resonant with the spirit of the evening. Of course, not to be missed, the dynamic Lisa Malosky will guide us through the evening with her characteristic warmth.

Our anniversary is a vital opportunity to support the Institute’s mission through ticket and table sales. Your participation is crucial for sustaining our ongoing work. Please use the link embedded here to join us as we celebrate 70 remarkable years—and set our sights on a bright future.

I hope to see you there, and I offer peace in the meantime.

Warmly,
Stuart
