Thomasina Burns is the Community Outreach Manager for the Institute for Spirituality and Health(ISH) at the Texas Medical Center. Mrs. Burns holds a Bachelor Degree in Community Health from Lamar University. Her career began as a Wellness Coordinator with Houston Methodist Hospital where she created and implemented wellness programs for corporations. Her career in community health expanded when she moved to nonprofit programs and fund development with Community Health Charities, and subsequently church and ministry management at Fellowship of Purpose Church. Mrs. Burns has more than15 years of experience in community health program management and administration.

At ISH, Mrs. Burns manages the Faith & Diabetes Initiative as well as our involvement in the Faith & Opioid Roundtable series. She serves as the primary liaison between ISH and the Greater Houston community, particularly when it comes to networking around faith & health.

Community and people are on her heart, so when she is not working she commits her time to impacting the lives of Houstons youth by serving as mentor to youth and young adults. But, her most cherished role is that of wife and mother!
