Our society tends to view the body in instrumental terms, or as a means to an end. We are focused on how it looks and what it is able to do. This class is premised on the idea that the body is an end in and of itself - that our embodied experience has intrinsic value. The practices we will explore are intended to build a relationship with our bodies that is grounded in acceptance, celebration, and joy. Over the course of five weeks, we will focus on cultivating awareness, experiencing wholeness and learning skillful ways of integrating these qualities in our day-to-day lives.
