Carolyn ClarkCarolyn Monteith Clarke has been on the Board of the Institute for Spirituality and Health for twenty-five years, four of which she served as President. She was President of the Junior League of Houston and in 2007 was the recipient of the Adelaide Baker Award, given for continued volunteerism and leadership in the Houston community.

Dr. GillDr. Gill is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and the Center for Medical Ethics at Baylor College of Medicine and is engaged in the development of educational offerings related to public health, professionalism, communication, cultural competency and palliative care.

Nancy GordonNancy Gordon is an active volunteer in the community. Nancy has volunteered for causes ranging from education and children to the environment and arts. Nancy has served on the Board of Trustees for several organizations including The Kinkaid School, TIRR Foundation, and Texas Children's Hospital. She is a founding member of the covenant Houston Texas Guild and VICTORY, a branch of the American Cancer Society.

From 1986 to 1990, he was on the professional staff of Arthur Anderson & Co. Susan JoseySusan Josey has been on the staff of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church for 7 years. She is on the Board of River Oaks Garden Club and The Junior League of Houston. Susan is the former director of Ministry, St. John the Divine Episcopal Church and active in many church ministries. She was Chairman of Dunlavy Guild Shop from 2005-2006 and Chairman of the Azalea Trail in 2005.

Samuel E. Karff, D.H.L.

Rabbi Samuel E. KarffRabbi Samuel E. Karff became Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Beth Israel in May 1999 after serving his congregation for twenty-four years as Senior Rabbi. Rabbi Karff is presently Associate Director of the John McGovern Center for Health, Humanities and the Human Spirit and Visiting Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas.

Rabbi Roy A. Walter

Rabbi Roy A. WalterRabbi Roy A. Walter was born in 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, and Bachelor and Master of Hebrew Letters degrees from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati. In 1970, he was ordained a Rabbi. In 1995, he was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

Jim WalzelJim Walzel graduated from Rice University with a BA degree and a BS in Chemical Engineering.  He has worked in the natural gas industry for most of his career.  He worked at Houston Natural Gas Corporation for 17 years and was president of the company when it was acquired in 1985.  He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Southwestern University and as a Trustee of the Methodist Hospital Foundation.

Basheer Khumawala was born and raised in a Muslim family in India and has been in the U.S. since 1963. He is currently the John & Rebecca Moores Professor of Supply Chain Management (SCM) in the C. T .Bauer College of Business at University of Houston. He started his academic career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was promoted to Full Professor.

Richard E. Wainerdi

Richard E. Wainerdi was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of the Texas Medical Center in 1984 after his retirement from the Gulf Oil Corporation.
